Visit DAF at the Litchfield Rural Show

Published

Come see the team at the Litchfield Rural Show to learn more about biosecurity, agriculture and fisheries across the Northern Territory (NT).

The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) will be at this year’s Litchfield Rural Show, taking place 23 and 24 May at the Livingstone Recreation Reserve, ready to connect with the community and share important information to support Territorians.

Whether you’re a producer, hobby farmer, or simply interested in the NT primary industries, the DAF team will be on hand to provide advice, resources and practical guidance.

What you’ll learn

DAF will deliver education and awareness on key biosecurity and industry topics, including:

  • avian influenza
  • Property Identification Codes (PICs) and traceability
  • bee hive registration and bee biosecurity
  • banana freckle permits
  • Biosecurity Emergency Response Trailer (BERT)
  • animal welfare obligations
  • fisheries and agriculture programs.

What the show offers

The Litchfield Rural Show (formerly the Freds Pass Rural Show) is one of the region’s largest community events, bringing together industry, families and local businesses to celebrate rural life in the NT.

With thousands of attendees across the weekend, the show offers a unique opportunity to:

  • speak directly with DAF experts
  • learn how to protect your property and livestock
  • explore programs supporting the agriculture and fisheries sectors
  • engage with hands-on demonstrations and displays.

Come and say hello

Drop by the DAF site during the show to meet the team, ask questions and find out how we’re working to protect and grow the NT primary industries.
