Published

MAGNT Darwin is proud to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science with a special In conversation event on Wednesday 11 February, spotlighting five remarkable women whose work is shaping science, culture, and conservation in the Northern Territory.

This free public event brings together experts from across scientific and museum disciplines to share their career journeys, the science behind their daily work, and the moments that sparked their passion for discovery.

Attendees will hear from:

  • Dr Sonu Yadav – Principal Molecular Scientist, NT Department of Agriculture & Fisheries
  • Dr Kirsti Abbott – Head of Science, MAGNT
  • Paige Taylor – Assistant Curator, Territory History
  • Eleanor Vallier – Paintings Conservator
  • Eileen Lim – Materials Conservation Assistant

Together, they will explore the diverse pathways that led them into science, the challenges and triumphs of working in their fields, and the importance of representation and opportunity for the next generation of women and girls.

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is a global initiative recognising the critical role women play in science and technology. MAGNT is proud to contribute to this celebration by showcasing the talent and expertise within its own community.
