Beekeeper registrations are now easier to complete online
Managing a beekeeper registration is now simpler, with NT beekeeper registration available through Territory Services.
The new online forms provide a more convenient way for beekeepers to apply for a registration, renew an existing registration, update their details or cancel a registration when required.
Who needs to register?
You must register as a beekeeper if you own honey bees. Registration is not required for native bees, but it is strongly encouraged.
Apply for or renew a registration
Before starting an application, beekeepers should have the following information available:
- beekeeper or apiary manager contact details
- hive location details
- number of hives.
To apply for or renew a registration, go to the Territory Services beekeeper application form.
The application takes about 10 to 20 minutes. All steps must be completed in one go.
You can't save your application and complete it at a later stage.
This service is free.
Beekeeper registrations must be renewed every 2 years.
When renewing, beekeepers will also need their hive registration code (HRC).
Update or cancel a registration
You can update the number of beehives, locations, owner and apiary manager details at any time.
You must cancel your registration if you're no longer the legal owner of beehives.
You'll need the hive registration code (HRC), details of the beehive owner and reason for cancelling your registration.
To update or cancel your registration, go to the Territory Services update or cancel a beekeeper registration form.
