StationSmart - turning research into action
The Northern Territory Government's Department of Agriculture and Fisheries' (DAF) new StationSmart project is working directly with a NT cattle station to document what it really takes to implement management practices that research has shown to be effective.
While the recommendations may look straightforward on paper, putting them into practice on-property often presents challenges.
The Livestock Industries team is supporting the station as it adopts its chosen new practices, while also capturing insights into the practical hurdles and benefits encountered along the way.
These learnings will help inform other producers considering similar changes and will guide our own RD&E approach to ensure it remains grounded in real-world conditions.
