A long-term grazing strategies trial is providing results in Central Australia.

The department is trialling six grazing strategies at Old Man Plains Research station, south-west of Alice Springs, based around long-term safe carrying capacities.

The trial is demonstrating that it is possible to improve land condition while maintaining a stable breeder herd and producing high-value steers for the premium beef market.
