Bird disease report – privacy collection notice

The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) is committed to safeguarding the confidentiality and privacy of the information that it collects and handles, in accordance with the Northern Territory Information Act 2002.

You have been asked to provide personal information necessary for us to investigate your report of a suspected bird disease in the Northern Territory, and to contact you to provide updates on your report. This information is being collected under the Livestock Act 2008 .

You do not have to provide your personal information however, if you choose not to, it may be difficult to assess and investigate the concerns, as we cannot refer back to you for more information or advise of any outcome to your report.

The information you provide will be accessible to DAF and will only be used to conduct relevant investigations. We will not disclose your personal information to third parties unless:

  • authorised or required by law to do so
  • you have given us your consent to share your personal information for a specific purpose.
