Caring for Country Music competition

The Caring for Country Music competition is focused on raising awareness of the importance of caring for our country through biosecurity.

Biosecurity is about protecting our environment, maintaining the overall health and wellbeing of the land, its ecosystems, and the people who depend on it.

Northern Territory singers, musicians, songwriters, schools and creatives were invited to submit their song entries for a chance to win a cash prize.

The categories and prize money included:

  • schools - $2,500
  • individual - $1,500
  • group - $2,500
  • most innovative and creative - $2,500
  • people’s choice - $2,500.

Entries were judged on creativity, originality, lyrics, melody and alignment with biosecurity messaging and goals with the competition focussed on future education pathways and opportunities in biosecurity.
