The Molecular Diagnostic Laboratories supports market access for Northern Territory agriculture products and provides world-class diagnostics for animal and plant diseases.

The facility enables scientists to carry out advanced research, improving outcomes for important industries, such as cattle, mangoes and melons, while focussing on crop protection from exotic pests and diseases.

The laboratories deliver biosecurity containment to level 3 capacity allowing for highly specialist research and diagnostic activities.

The Molecular Diagnostic Laboratories are located at the Berrimah Farm Science Precinct in Darwin and is the only one of its kind in northern Australia.
